WOW – which is what Barack said too! I was so proud of St. Louis on Saturday, when I was one of 100,000 people gathered at The Arch to hear Barack speak. Of course, it was exciting to see him (and hear more anecdotes about pie!), but it was the power of the crowd that really inspired me. It was a pretty joyful experience.
AND – I got to hang out with the folks from the Obama Mobile! These are some ambitious artists who are driving their prObama VW bus and original t-shirt art to every swing state before the election. They stopped in St. Louis this weekend, which brought my old roommate to town from NYC, and we had a blast! Fun art project for Obama.

First, my quick take on debate #1, from a text message exchange at 10:09ET Friday night:
Dylan: What the f!*# is happening in this debate? Has a single thing really been addressed?
Me: No, but there has been a historic “I Have a Bracelet” speech.

I am already moving on and getting excited for the next debate between the two VP candidates, which will be held about 500 feet away from my second home (the law school) on Wash U’s campus.
While I was not one of the lucky few who got tickets through the student lottery to attend the debate, it will still be a really exciting time to be on campus – despite the parking garages being closed and the really tight security in place. I will try to “live blog” from there on Thursday.
Oh! And, I’m taking suggestions: in 2004, when the debates were on campus, the Students for Choice group had t-shirts that said “The Only Bush I Trust Is My Own.” I’m trying to think of something witty and anti-Palin for Thursday…please leave any ideas in the comments!
